“I created a website with the premise of articles written for moms by moms. But it is a catch-22 because in order to get moms to contribute I need them to be able to find my site!”

This is a question that I saw today while surfing the web and I felt compelled to post an answer here since I’m sure many newcomers to SEO are also thinking it.

Here are some suggestions for getting links pointing to your site in order get ranked higher in the search engines:

  • get listed in directories, I suggest directorymaximizer.com.
  • distribute your articles, I suggest distributeyourarticles.com
  • syndicate videos, traffic geyser

if you don’t want to pay for these services then find out where they (or you) can distribute your content manually in order to get links back to your site.

other free suggestions:

  • blog or forum commenting,
  • ezinearticles.com,
  • youtube.com – put naked link ex: http://yoursite.com as the very first thing in video description,
  • goarticles.com, and
  • here’s a huge list of free blog and rss directories you can get listed in: http://www.toprankblog.com/rss-blog-directories/
